Together, let’s make beauty supporting and sustainable

Fenix is a chain of wellbeing salons that believes in fairness, honesty, the freedom of being yourself and the invigorating power of laughter. For us, sustainability means not only adopting more sustainable, eco-friendly practices, but also treating each other with respect and listening to each other. Progress towards the good starts with nothing is bothering you.

Not just green washed

Let’s say the obvious things first. Of course, we strive to make our facilities as environmentally friendly as possible. But we feel a bit tacky explaining how our sugar jars are made of environmentally friendly plastic (which they really are). Respecting the environment is about small acts in everyday life, both at work and at home.

This year, we switched to using only European products, which have a lower carbon footprint than products from the other side of the world. Every year, we go through with the staff the amount of supplies consumed in the salons and make amendments together.

Our mixed team of Women

Our talented team is made up of skilled women who love their profession. Our trained beauty professionals love what they do with their whole personality, and that’s what we encourage them to do. Both our clients and our professionals are allowed to be 100% themselves.

It’s important to us that our clients can find their trusted professional among our staff, and they can feel the bond between them.

Beauty salon for everyone, including men

Fenix was one of the first in Finland to start body sugaring men in 2005. At the time, many men were ridiculed or thrown out of other salons because male sugaring – especially of intimate areas – was considered questionable in many places. We have always welcomed everyone to our salons – men, women and those who do not want to be defined.

The work in a beauty salon is always first and foremost an encounter, work that is never done remotely. We always meet our clients as people, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, skin colour or weight.

Let’s be human and act human

Our staff love what they do and naturally want their clients to have a good experience with every treatment. We want to treat each client as themselves and we want to listen to and meet the individual needs of each customer in an accepting way. It is a pleasure every time to see the smiles on our clients’ faces at the end of a treatment.

We are here for our clients and their well-being, and that is why we have chosen beauty as our profession. In return, we hope to be treated with acceptance and respected by our customers too. You always have the right to tell us if you are not satisfied with your service. We will listen and do our best to make things right. But remember that our professionals are human beings too, and a customer service role does not protect you from all the bumps and nasty words. Let’s treat each other with dignity.

There must be some limits too

But on some issues we have made clear boundaries. We welcome minors in our beauty salons, but we do not accept all of our treatments for people under the age of 16. We only perform ear piercings on children in the presence of a parent.

We want to act responsibly towards children and young people and use age limits to send the message that there is no need for certain beauty treatments at a young age. In the case of skin diseases such as acne, we tell you honestly what we can do as cosmetologists, but we also tell you honestly when it is time to see a doctor.
