Sugaring is a gentle and effective hair removal method that also removes dead skin cells, thus exfoliating the skin. The result is hairless, soft, silky and healthy skin.

At Fenix, we have been performing all types of hair removal – including Brazilian – for both men and women since 2005. So we warmly welcome women, men and everyone – regardless of gender.
Silky smooth skin with sugaring
Sugaring is a method of removing hair from the entire body, even from the most sensitive areas, and it’s done pleasantly sweet with sugar.
Sugar is a skin-friendly, water-soluble and safe way to remove hair. It causes the hair to ‘pop’ out of the hair follicle without damaging the skin, so there is little redness after the procedure.
We do sugaring for both men and women (and all other genders).
Sugaring is suitable for all skin types
Body sugaring also gently removes dead skin cells. It is therefore also an excellent body exfoliator, leaving the skin feeling silky smooth and soft. After the procedure, creams and lotions are also better absorbed.
Sugaring is best used on small, delicate and sensitive skin areas such as underarms, bikini line and Brazilian hair removal. On larger areas (legs, thighs, arms, back), sugar is also a good and gentle way to remove annoying hairs.
Before coming to the salon, there is only one important rule: don’t shave your hair for at least two weeks before sugaring.
If the hair to be removed is too short (less than 5 mm), it is impossible to get it completely “milked” out of the hair follicle. This means that the operation takes longer, hurts more and the result is still not silky smooth.
So don’t be shy and start tidying up in advance, but rather come with “metric leg hair” or “a bikini line that comes out of your knee pants”. Trust us: there’s no hair that long, bushy or dark that we haven’t already seen.
Excessively long hair can be trimmed to its removal length at the salon. Or, if you prefer, you can trim the hair to about 1 cm at home.
We do not recommend using body lotions or other moisturising products just before sugaring, as oily or greasy skin makes it much harder for sugar to stick to the hairs.
You should also avoid exfoliating your skin on the day of treatment and the day before.
Avoid sauna and sports (sweating) and swimming for 12 hours.
If you have had your underarm hair removed, avoid using deodorant for 12 hours.
If you have had your facial hair removed, avoid clogging make-up for 12 hours.
Remember to avoid sun and tanning beds on the same day and protect your skin from the sun the next day in sugared areas.
Moisturise and exfoliate your skin regularly. This is an effective way to prevent ingrown hairs. However, wait at least one day after sugaring before the first exfoliation.
Immediately after the treatment, it is a good idea to avoid tight, abrasive clothing. The skin should also not be scratched or scrubbed after the treatment.
Hair removal from different areas of the skin
Sugaring is ideal for hair removal from the bikini line, legs, thighs, armpits, arms, face, genital area, eyebrows, etc.
Facial sugaring is an exception compared to other areas of the body, as the face is one of the most sensitive areas of the body.
Thanks to its gentle action, sugaring is particularly suitable for facial hair removal.
The sugar is a handy way to shape eyebrows and remove hair from the chin and upper lip area, for example.
The facial skin has a large number of fine, light-coloured vellus hairs and up to 500 small vellus hairs can be removed from the face in one application of the sugaring treatment. The role of the hair follicles is to protect the skin and when this protective hair is removed, the skin may go into a defensive mode and start producing histamine, which causes small pimples, swelling, redness and itching. This is called the “histamine reaction.”
It is impossible to know in advance how the skin may react to facial hair removal. The reaction is not related to the product, i.e. the sugar, and certainly not to the technique of the sugaring technician. The possible histamine reaction is individual and related to the skin itself.
If you are concerned about the possibility of a histamine reaction, it is worth testing a small area, usually the front of the ear, in advance, perhaps when having another sugaring procedure done. If there is no histamine reaction within 24 hours, it is unlikely to occur with whole-face sugaring.
Manufacturers of sugaring products have tested that taking an antihistamine before sugaring the face significantly reduced the occurrence of adverse reactions. If the sugaring has already been done and the skin reacts with “hives” afterwards, taking the antihistamine afterwards will also help to dilute the reaction.
It is worth remembering that histamine reactions are very rare and most people have no problems with facial hair sugaring, without any reactions.
Whole face sugaring is also a popular procedure to smooth the surface of the face (the perfect base for make-up!). At the same time, you get a kind of quick-face treatment, as the sugar exfoliates the dead skin cells.
In Brazilian depilation, the hair is completely removed from the genital area, leaving only a small strip of hair on the pubic tubercle, called the landing strip. At the client’s request, the hair can also be completely removed.
Sugaring is best for small and sensitive areas of skin where the skin is thin (mucous membranes, inguinal folds) and the hair is thick and stiff and the root hairs are tight. It is therefore an excellent method for making brassicas.
We at Fenix Beauty Centre have been doing Brazilian hair removal since 2005, and men are also welcome to be our clients.
Sugaring is an effective method for hair removal even on larger areas of the body. Legs, thighs, back, arms… you name it!
Many other hair removal methods, such as shawers, wax strips and epilators, easily break off some of the hair, causing ingrown hairs. Sugaring is a more skin-friendly method because it removes the hairs in their entirety. So no more irritated red spots on your legs or anywhere else on your body after hair removal!
Sugaring also keeps the hairs away for longer.
Dead dry skin cells can sometimes block the hair follicle, preventing new hair growth from emerging. In this case, the hair may “loop” and start to grow back towards the root. The result is an inward-growing hair.
The ingrown hairs often form a pimple, which is harmless in itself, but aesthetically unpleasing.
The best ways to prevent ingrown hairs are exfoliation and moisturising. Regularly exfoliating dead dry skin cells 2-3 times a week and moisturising daily with a moisturiser will go a long way to preventing ingrown hairs.
However, please note that you should not exfoliate the day before, the day of, or the day after sugaring. Sugar itself is already an effective exfoliant, so you should not over-exfoliate your skin while you are having a sugaring treatment.
There is also a treatment for ingrown hairs – pfb vanish. pfb vanish is a roll-on gel designed not only to prevent new ingrown hairs, but also to cure existing ones.
pfb vanish exfoliates dead skin cells at the top of hair follicles and lifts ingrown hairs towards the skin’s surface, eliminating irritation, redness or pimple-like swelling.
The gel should be used daily, 1-2 times a day, depending on the situation, and can be used on all areas of the skin, but not on mucous membranes.
The product contains acetylsalicylic acid, so it is not suitable for people allergic to aspirin and should not be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
pfb stands for Pseudo Folliculitis Barbae.
Did you know these about body sugaring?
Sugar paste is a viscous, sticky mass consisting mainly of sugar and water. Since 2023, we have been using the advanced European Radeq Lab Premiun Prebiotic sugars.
The sugars we use differ from other sugar masses in that Radeq Lab’s sugars are the world’s first skin-conditioning sugar paste containing prebiotics.
The lower temperature sugar paste has excellent elasticity and microbe-supporting properties. This makes sugaring with Radeq Lab sugarpastes particularly pleasant, painless and fast.
- Sugar is a pure and 100% natural product. (Wax is made from a variety of different raw materials.)
- For sugaring, the best length for hair removal is 5 mm or more, but for example, hair of less than 2 mm can be removed from the face. (For wax removal, the hair should be longer.)
- Sugar does not adhere to living skin cells. It only sticks to dead skin cells and hair. This makes sugaring gentler and less painful. (Wax also sticks to living skin cells and, in the unaccustomed user, is more likely to damage the skin.)
- In sugaring, the hairs are removed in the natural direction of the hair growth, so that the hairs do not break off and no ingrown hairs are produced (in waxing, the hairs are removed against the direction of growth, so that the hairs break off more easily and do not fall out by the roots).
- Sugar is not hot, but at room temperature. It does not burn the skin or cause scarring. (Wax is considerably hotter than sugar.)
- Sugar does not mess. With sugaring, the client does not feel sticky after the treatment, but feels clean and comfortable. (Wax is not water-soluble, so it is more difficult to get it off the skin than sugar.)
- Sugaring allows for gentle hair removal even in the most intimate areas. (Waxing, especially on intimate areas, is more painful and slower than sugaring.)
- Sugar is hygienic.
- Sugaring can permanently reduce hair growth.

Frequently asked questions
ABOUT
A hair length of 5 mm or more is sufficient to allow enough gripping surface area for the hair to be removed in one flick.
You can never have too much hair. Long hair can be trimmed down to its removal length at the salon, so you can come in for a trim with your hair in its “natural state”.
As a golden rule, you could say that long hair is better than short hair, as long hair can easily be shortened, but it’s bad (and painful) to pluck from nothing!
There is no unequivocal answer to this question.
Sugaring removes all the hairs that are visible on the surface of the skin. Under the surface of the skin, another hair grows in each root bud. The hairs below the surface are all at different stages of growth.
The rate of regrowth depends on the stage of growth of each new hair under the surface. In the case of a new hair at the base of the root ball, it takes up to four weeks to grow to the surface of the skin. If, on the other hand, the hair has already grown well below the surface of the skin, it will break through the skin in just a few days.
The hairs will grow back here and there, sparsely and slowly over the next few weeks. When sugaring, the hair is detached from its rootstock, and thus takes longer to grow back than when shaving. Also, when sugaring, the hair does not grow back as an itchy bed.
Over time, the hair growth will diminish and the hair will soften when sugaring is carried out regularly. Regular sugaring can also atrophy the hair follicle, which can lead to the cessation of hair growth.
Hair removal is always carried out as quickly and painlessly as possible. Sure, the hair and its roots always pinch a little, but there’s no real pain. The skin is not left tender or sensitive in any way after the sugaring process.
Long-term and regular sugaring also makes the hair so fine and sparse that the procedure eventually becomes almost painless.
Our website lists all the training courses and years of training that our estheticians have attended. Often, good sugarists are also praised by friends or in various online discussion groups.

Hair grows at very different speed in different areas of the body.
Eyelashes and eyebrows regrow in 90 days, while tibial and axillary hairs are visible in some places after 7-14 days.
Therefore, the frequency of hair removal depends not only on the area of skin hair to be removed, but also on individual differences between bodies and personal preferences for hairlessness.
In most cases, the average removal interval for hairs is 4-6 weeks.
Only coming in with a hair that is too short can lead to an unsatisfactory result, as too short a hair cannot be removed with sugar.
If you wish, you can. However, if you want to weaken the texture and growth of the hair, it would be best to leave the shaving out.
The length of hair needed for sugaring is 5 mm or more, so that the hair has enough gripping surface and can be removed in one flick.
Any hair shaved in the last week from anywhere on the body is likely to be so short (less than 5 mm) that it will not come off by sugaring. It is therefore advisable to avoid shaving before the procedure.
However, the hair can never be too long, as long hair can easily be trimmed to its removal length (max 1 cm) in the salon.
Coming to the procedure with hair that is too short is considered time used, and the price according to the price list will be charged.
Most people have no problems with facial hair sugaring, and it is usually done without any reactions.
However, in some very rare cases, a so-called “histamine reaction” can occur on the face.
The skin of the face has a large number of fine, pale, vellus hairs. Their function is to protect the skin, and when this protective hair is removed, the skin can go into a defensive mode and start producing histamine, which can cause small pimples, swelling, redness and itching. This is called a histamine reaction.
It is impossible to know in advance how the skin may react to facial hair removal. The reaction is not related to the product, i.e. the sugar, and certainly not to the technique used by the sugarist. Any histamine reaction is individual and is related to the skin itself.
If you are concerned about the possibility of a histamine reaction, it is worth testing a small area, usually the front of the ear, in advance, perhaps in conjunction with another sugaring procedure. If there is no histamine reaction within 24 hours, there is unlikely to be a reaction from whole-face sugaring.
Manufacturers of sugaring products have tested that taking an antihistamine before sugaring the face significantly reduced the occurrence of adverse reactions. If the skin reacts to sugaring with “hives” after treatment, an antihistamine taken afterwards will also help dilute the reaction.
But as already noted, a histamine reaction is very rare, and most people can undergo facial hair sugaring without any reaction.
Sugaring can be done on top of atopic dermatitis, if the skin is not broken down to the bloodstream. If the skin is completely broken, we’ll go around the area.
PRICING
Most likely not.
For example, a time reservation of 45 minutes means that the esthetician has a maximum of this amount of time to complete the work. This time includes clients dressing and undressing, cashiering and booking a new appointment, if necessary.
So the cosmetologist does not have to spend the full 45 minutes allotted for hair removal, but 45 minutes is the time in which she has to complete the treatment.
It is the cosmetologist’s responsibility to carry out all the hair removal steps carefully and with the best possible results, but there is no obligation to charge for the full time.
Surely no-one hopes to prolong the hair removal process any longer than it actually takes.
A skilled and trained beautician is likely to be able to do hair removal faster than average, but the price of the work done will not be affected.
However, the amount of work in the area to be sugared is the same, it’s just that a skilled sugarist may do the job faster than a less experienced sugarist.
In any case, the excellent professionalism of the sugarist cannot be a factor in lowering the price.
We price our sugaring “regardless of hair” for all our customers according to the same rules.
We do not “punish” our customers with more hair with higher prices, nor do we “reward” our customers with less hair with lower prices.
First-time visitors and clients visiting us for more than six weeks always pay the price according to the price list.
Our regular customers who stay with us for up to six weeks always pay the regular price for a Brazilian, according to the price list.
We value all our customers equally and therefore our pricing is clear and fair for everyone.♥️
The beautician will not do sugaring in other areas at the same price in the surplus time. As mentioned, this is not a sugar treatment for minutes, but for a specific area of the skin.
If you have extra time after your legs, you can always ask a beautician to sugar your armpits at the same time. However, they will always be charged separately.
A cosmetologist’s time can be compared to that of a doctor. The doctor always allows at least 20 minutes per patient. However, if the doctor diagnoses a disease in two minutes, the visit is no cheaper than if the whole 20 minutes had been spent on the examination.
Again, 20 minutes is the maximum time a doctor can have per patient. The excess minutes are not credited to the patient in the price or, alternatively, another procedure is performed at the same price on the grounds that there is time left over.
Exactly the same logic applies to sugaring.
If the hair is too short, the treatment time is considered as booked and used, and the full price will be charged regardless of the outcome.
We therefore strongly recommend that you stop “shaving” well in advance (min. 14 days) before sugaring.
