Preparing for treatments and home care instructions
We recommend that you read the instructions carefully, well in advance of your treatment. Preparing for treatment will contribute to the success of the treatment and the desired outcome.
Please read the instructions carefully, well in advance of your appointment.
General instructions | Face, eyelashes and eyebrows | Hair and nails | Body treatments and more
Some treatments require advance preparation to ensure the best possible outcome. Please also take note of our home care guidelines, which we have put together here just for you.
Our pricing is based not only on the service provided, but also on the time reserved for it, the room reserved for it and the professional reserved for it.
An appointment of e.g. 60 min means the entire time allocated for the visit. This is the maximum amount of time the worker has to complete the entire task.
For example, a 60 min appointment for a client includes arrival at the salon, undressing, dressing, checkout and possible re-booking. Please note that the booked time always includes all these activities. In a “60 min massage” treatment, the time spent on the massage itself is therefore never the full 60 minutes.
A beautician only treats healthy skin, a doctor treats diseased skin. This has invariably been the first lesson of cosmetology schools throughout the ages. A cosmetologist can cleanse, treat and moisturise the skin, but a cosmetologist cannot cure diseased skin.
A cosmetologist is not a doctor
Acne-prone or otherwise impure skin can be cleansed and moisturised with cosmetic treatments, in an attempt to treat the skin for an otherwise better condition. However, acne, rosacea or other skin diseases cannot be cured in a beauty salon, i.e. cosmetic treatments cannot cure the disease. Cosmetologists do not cure diseases, but always require a doctor’s appointment. Skin problems are often so tricky that even dermatologists find it difficult to make definitive diagnoses and find the right remedies for unclear skin problems. Therefore, it is not reasonable to expect a cosmetologist to cure something for which even medicine cannot provide a definite answer.
A beautician is not a magician
In cosmetic treatments, it is always necessary to keep realism in mind while waiting for the results. Badly cracked, dry and calloused legs, or even a hyperpigmented liver-spotted face, will always require several treatments and regular home care and even then, at best, we can only promise to have a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin. It is unjustified and unrealistic to expect a cosmetologist to perform a magic trick to make your skin wrinkle-free, smooth, impurity-free or otherwise flawless in a single treatment. With too high expectations, treatments are bound to leave a disappointed feeling and a bad taste in the mouth.
Skincare is a marathon, not a sprint
Skincare requires long-term daily regular activity and a commitment to home care with the right products. You also need to brush your teeth daily, preferably twice a day. Your teeth won’t stay in good shape if the only care you give them is a visit to the dentist once a year.
All hair and beauty treatments at Fenix Beauty Centre are ordered by the client, with the client’s permission and at the client’s own risk.
We use safe professional products
As trained hair and beauty professionals, we do all our work with the safest possible professional products, relying on information provided by the client regarding allergies, sensitivities or other past reactions to other products, substances or treatments used.
All cosmetics are chemicals
All the products we use are cosmetics, i.e. chemicals, and any chemicals that come into contact with the skin can cause a sensitivity or allergic reaction in humans. All chemicals are foreign substances to the human body and each body reacts differently to them. In the event of an allergic reaction, depending on the symptoms, you should seek medical attention or, in less severe cases, at least consult pharmacy staff for allergy medication.
You can get an allergic reaction from anything
You can be allergic to everything. Allergising or sensitising chemicals can include skin cosmetics (detergents, creams, serums), laundry detergents, hair cosmetics (washing, conditioning and styling products), oral hygiene products, make-up, perfumes, etc. If you are sensitised to one substance – you are sensitised to a thousand others. The allergen is always an ingredient in the product, not the product itself. Therefore, an allergic reaction is caused by any product that contains the allergenic raw material in question.
Allergies are not visible in advance
Allergies and sensitivities are not visible and allergic reactions cannot be predicted. If an allergic reaction occurs, it is not the fault of the author or the work done. The cause of the allergy is some raw material in a product used in the work that is not exactly suited to the client’s skin. This cannot be known or predicted in advance and therefore cannot be prevented from happening. Allergy is an inappropriate immunological or rejection reaction of the body against substances in the environment. A hair and beauty professional cannot be held responsible for this.
Everything carries a risk of allergic reaction
All chemicals carry a risk of allergic reaction and as a customer you are consciously taking this risk. For the reasons mentioned above, an allergic reaction is not a reason for a complaint or cancellation.

Service-specific instructions
Careful home care is important in all beauty treatments and it is always a good idea to follow home care instructions to ensure that the effects of the treatment continue even after the visit.
Face, lashes and brows
Below you will find preparation and home care tips for facials, eyelashes and eyebrows
When it comes to facials, remember that lines, wrinkles, blemishes, scars, hyper pigmentation and other skin imperfections and unevenness didn’t just appear overnight. That’s why it’s not something that can be eradicated overnight, if ever.
Preparing for a facial
- If possible, come to the facial without make-up. If you wear make-up, that’s fine too. In that case, part of the facial is just to remove the make-up, nothing more.
- When it comes to facial treatments, it is good to know that a beard can become a barrier to performing a facial, especially with equipment treatments such as HydraFacial, diamond microdermabrasion, microneedling and ultrasonic cleansing. The beard can block the contact of the treatment equipment or substances with the skin and in this case the facial treatment is of little benefit to the skin. Facials can only be performed perfectly on beardless areas of skin.
Choosing a facial treatment
- Our traditional facials are suitable for everyone, regardless of age or gender, as all our facials are always tailored to your skin’s needs. So you don’t need to know in advance which facial you’re going to choose. We encourage you to book an appointment for a facial, starting with our “perfect facial”. Together with your cosmetologist, you can then choose the facial that best suits you, based on how your skin looks at the moment and what your cosmetologist recommends, right from the start of your appointment.
- At the start of your treatment, let your cosmetologist know if you have any particular concerns or worries about your skin, or if there is anything in particular that you would like the treatment to focus on. Our aim is always to provide a treatment experience that respects your wishes as closely as possible.
Barriers to facial treatments
- Broken skin
- Active infections on the skin
- Product allergies
- After a course of isotretinoin, the skin should be allowed to strengthen and recover for at least 6 months.
- Device treatments and chemical peels during pregnancy and breastfeeding (diamond microdermabrasion is suitable)
- After botulinum or filler injections, wait two weeks before facial treatment
Home care instructions for facial treatments
- Continue the positive effects of your facial treatment on your skin at home for as long as possible with quality home care products recommended by your beautician.
- It’s safe to have a facial once a month, but we recommend you have at least four facials a year, depending on the change of seasons.
- Protect your skin from the sun every day of the year, even during the winter months.
Lines, wrinkles, sun and SPF
- Lines and wrinkles are part of ageing. You can try to curb their appearance, but you can’t prevent them from forming.
- The key to preventing the signs of ageing is to prevent them from occurring in the first place, and regular skin care with good skin care products can help. If you’ve made the choice to soak up the sun’s rays on your face at all times without proper sun protection, your skin is sure to age quickly.
- The sun also easily causes various pigmentation disorders, such as hyperpigmentation, more commonly known as liver fluke. These events can no longer be corrected by a cosmetologist. The sun is the number one ageing agent of the skin and the effects of the sun on the skin can no longer be reversed by facial treatment.
Functions of the skin
- The straw protects the skin, which in turn protects the whole body. The sebaceous glands also remove waste products from the skin. No facial or skin cleanser will remove all sebum and blackheads from the skin.
- The skin’s job is to secrete sebum, which lubricates the skin and keeps it water-repellent. The skin is constantly secreting sebum and no matter how much you treat and clean it, there will always be more or less sebum in the pores.
- There are hundreds of thousands of pores on the face. It is not possible to 100% clear them in a single facial. So after a facial, it’s not worth measuring the success of the treatment by whether you can still see sebum or blackheads in the magnifying mirror. The answer is always yes.
Guarantee conditions for facial treatments
- A facial is not a magic trick that fades away the traces of a lifetime or suspends normal skin functions in the name of skin cleansing. For these reasons, the presence of lines or blackheads on the skin even after a facial does not justify a claim or a sale.
- Complaints about facial treatments are always handled on a case-by-case basis and immediately. Please contact us without delay.
Preparing for chemical peeling
- Chemical peels cannot be combined with some other facial skin treatments, such as facial sugaring or facial massage, in the same session.
- We recommend that you do not use any skin care products containing vitamin A or self-tanning products on your facial skin for a week before and after the acid treatment.
- After botulinum or filler injections, wait two weeks before facial treatment
- Acid treatments can activate cold sores. Barrier medication only as prescribed by your doctor.
- Avoid sunbathing 72 h before the acid treatment.
- Chemical peels can cause redness, flaking, peeling, so don’t have an acid treatment too close to an important occasion or party.
After chemical peeling
- The treatment may cause peeling (visible or invisible) of the surface layer of the skin.
- Your own skincare actions after the treatment will affect the final result.
- It is important that you use the products recommended to you by your beautician.
- We cannot guarantee the results of the treatment, nor can we give an accurate estimate of skin peel times or discomfort.
- During the treatment, you may feel a temporary tingling or burning sensation on your skin. This will pass within a few minutes.
- Over the next few hours, your skin may start to feel a little tight; this sensation can last for several days.
- For most customers, skin flaking starts within 48 hours.
- It is impossible to determine in advance how much skin will peel.
- The flaking process usually takes 5-7 days.
- When it comes to facial treatments, it is good to know that a beard can become a barrier to the treatment, as it can block the contact of the treatment products with the skin, making the facial of little use to the skin. Facials can only be perfectly performed on beardless areas of the skin.
- Depending on the exfoliation treatment used and the quality of your skin, the following reactions are possible:
- Prolonged redness, irritation and flaking of the skin
- Dryness and sensitivity
- Severe allergic reactions in some rare cases.
Barriers to chemical peel treatment
- The age limit for chemical peels is 16 years
- Sun exposure, sunburned skin
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Herpes
- Use of vitamin A in skin care
- Sunlight-sensitising medicines
- Product allergies to products used in treatments
- Skin damage
- Rosacea
- Cancer
- Severely couperose skin
- Active infections in the skin
After chemical peeling, normal skin reactions include:
- Skin may be sensitive to touch
- The skin may become red
- Your skin may turn brown
- Skin may sting/prickle/peel/itch
- The skin may flake off severely
- The skin may be swollen
- Even water can sting the skin
- Care products may sting on the skin
Home care instructions for chemical peeling
- Treat your skin only with skincare products designed for it at home
- Protect yourself from the sun (4-8 months, SPF 50+)
- Do not use a tanning bed (during 4-8 weeks)
- Do not use saunas, steam rooms or swimming pools for 24 hours after the peeling treatment
- Do not remove flaking skin mechanically (by peeling, tearing), but let the skin peel off naturally at its own pace.
- Do not use active cosmetics
- Do not engage in intense sports activities after 24 hours of exfoliation – microscopic water blisters can form under dry skin
- Do not remove hair from the treated area for 10 days after the peel treatment
- Do not perform any cosmetic treatments for 14 days after the peel treatment
- Do not apply laser treatments to the skin for 12 weeks after the peel treatment
- Avoid self-tanning products for at least 7 days after the peel treatment
- Avoid make-up for at least 12 h after the peeling treatment
Preparing for a HydraFacial treatment
- If possible, come to the HydraFacial without make-up. If you wear make-up, that’s fine too. In that case, part of the facial is just to remove makeup, nothing more.
- When it comes to facial treatments, it is good to know that a beard can become a barrier to performing a facial, especially with equipment treatments such as HydraFacial, diamond microdermabrasion and ultrasonic cleansing. The beard can block the contact of the treatment equipment with the skin and in this case the facial is of little benefit to the skin. Facials can only be performed perfectly on beardless areas of skin.
After a HydraFacial treatment
- A temporary increase in impurities after treatment is normal. The skin will continue to cleanse itself even after the treatment, so it is possible that the skin will react by cleansing heavily and pushing out impurities for a few days after the treatment.
- Although not strictly a chemical peel, HydraFacial uses chemical exfoliants, AHA and BHA acids.
- Usually the skin does not react to the acid levels of HydraFacial, but it is possible that in extremely rare cases, very sensitive skin may be sensitive to touch, may redden, may turn brownish on the surface, may sting/pinch/prickle/itch, may flake heavily, may be swollen and the treatment products may sting the skin. However, these symptoms are transient and should not be a cause for concern. Careful moisturising of the skin will take care of the symptoms within a few days.
Barriers to HydraFacial treatment
- Product allergies
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- During the last 6 months of isotretinoin treatment
- Antibiotic treatment for the skin
- Severe acne or rosacea
- Active herpes
- Botulinum or filler injection in the last two weeks
- HydraFacial Signature can be done for all ages, other HydraFacial treatments only for people over 16 (acid peel)
Barriers to LED light therapy
- Photosensitising medicines such as isotretinoin, azathioprine, methotrexate, doxycycline, amiodarone. If you are taking any of these medicines, please check with your doctor well in advance of your appointment to make sure you have the correct withdrawal period.
- Photoallergic reactions and rashes, albinism, porphyria
- Autoimmune diseases (lupus = dysentery)
- Epilepsy
- Some natural products e.g. St. John’s wort
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
HydraFacial home care instructions
- As HydraFacial also uses fruit acids, after the treatment you should avoid direct sunlight and use a sun protection factor of at least SPF30, preferably SPF50 for at least two weeks after the treatment.
- Avoid heavy perspiration, such as sweating and sauna bathing, and outdoor activities in freezing weather on the day of treatment.
- Avoid strong treatments and products such as acid treatments, vitamin A, hair removal from the treated area should be avoided for two weeks after the treatment.
- Avoid the use of highly skin-activating or revitalising cosmetics for two weeks after the treatment.
- The best results are achieved through regular HydraFacial treatments and active use of home facial products suitable for your skin type.
- Please contact us immediately if you experience any unusual skin reactions after the treatment.
Getting ready for microneedling
- If you are interested in a microneedling treatment, please contact us by phone or email before booking an appointment.
- If you are taking medication, have had aesthetic or cosmetic surgery, or have diabetes, check with your doctor to see if microneedling is right for you.
- If your skin is very sensitive or exceptionally irritated, microneedling is probably not suitable for you
Barriers to microneedling
- Under 18 years old
- Pregnancy
- Isotretinoin medication (6-month withdrawal period after stopping the medication)
- Inflamed acne
- Antibiotics (internally or externally to the area to be treated)
- Cortisone (internally or externally to the area to be treated)
- Physical signs of an acute inflammatory or febrile reaction
- Blood thinners
- Cancer treatments (not allowed / doctor’s consent)
- Product allergies
- Unknown skin changes
- Skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema in the area to be treated
- Neurodermatitis
- Autoimmune diseases such as scleroderma
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Tumours and their precursors
- Suspected cancer
- Warts and viral skin diseases
- Bacterial skin infections
- Dermographism
- Fresh permanent pigmentation
- Laser treatments
- Invasive cosmetic treatments
- Invasive chemical peels
- Minimally invasive treatments (e.g. plasma pen) less than 4 weeks ago
- Wait 2 weeks after fillers or botulinum
- Healing scars, wounds or skin lesions in the treated area
- Active herpes
- Other inflammatory reaction in the skin
- HIV
Home care instructions for microneedling
- Do not touch the skin for the next 4 h to allow the microneedling channels to close.
- Do not wet the skin 4 h after treatment.
- Touch the skin only with clean hands.
- On the day of treatment, avoid extreme temperatures such as sauna, frost and cold.
- No swimming on the day of treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 48 h after microneedling.
- Do not sunbathe your face for at least two weeks.
- Use a sunscreen with a high SPF (at least SPF30) every day.
- Use a moisturising bdr facemask for the next 3-4 days.
- Make-up may only be worn the day after the day of treatment.
- Change your clean pillowcase and wash your make-up wipes.
Preparing for eyelash and eyebrow tinting
- Come to the permanent eyelash tinting without mascara, so that your treatment time is not wasted on removing mascara.
- When tinting eyelashes and eyebrows with dyes, it is good to know that the final result is always considerably darker immediately after tinting. For this reason, eyebrows that look “scary dark” usually only stay that way for a short time.
- It is a good idea to exfoliate the skin of the eyebrows before applying the permanent colour, so that the permanent colour does not stick too strongly to the dry dead skin cells.
- Self-tanning products may react with permanent tints, so it’s best to avoid face self-tanners for a couple of days before and a couple of days after permanent eyebrow tinting.
- The dye stuck to the skin can sometimes make the result look momentarily wild, but as a secretory organ, the skin pushes out the dye trapped in the pores, usually within the next 12-24 hours after staining. After this time, the colour has settled to the darkness that the final result of the staining actually is.
Obstacles to tinting
- The age limit for permanent dyes is 16 years
- Permanent dyeing cannot be performed if you are allergic to PPD (PPD-free permanent dyes also contain a PPD derivative that may cause an allergic reaction similar to PPD).
- Do not come to tinting if you have ever had an allergic reaction to e.g. hair dyes (in which case you are probably allergic to PPD).
- Permanent staining cannot be done on broken skin
- Eye inflammation or eyelid inflammation is a barrier to permanent eyelash tinting
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- It is not forbidden to colour hair, eyelashes and eyebrows during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, it is good to know that the success and permanence of any kind of chemical treatment, such as colouring and perming, lash lift and brow lift during pregnancy and breastfeeding, is very individual.
- The scale of success and permanence of colours and perms is very wide. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you can have the best or worst permanent or colouring treatment of your life. Your colour may be perfect or it may not stick to your hair, eyelashes or eyebrows at all.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding confuse the hormonal activity of women so that unfortunately we cannot give any guarantees for the success of chemical treatments for hair, eyelashes or eyebrows. It is therefore good to know that the failure of a chemical treatment in these cases does not justify a sale.
Warranty conditions for tinting
- Eyelashes usually fade in 3-4 weeks, which is slightly slower than eyebrows, which usually fade in 1-3 weeks. There are many individual differences in colour fading, depending on the quality of the hair.
- Our permanent dyes come with a one-week (seven-day) guarantee. If the permanent colour on the eyelashes or eyebrows has faded significantly during the first week, this should be reported immediately or at the latest 7 days after the permanent colouring. After this time, the guarantee is no longer valid.
- The shaping of the eyebrows can be done with tweezers by plucking or sugaring with a sugar. If you want sugaring, please make sure that your beautician performs eyebrow sugaring.
- Whatever the method of brow shaping, it is quite normal for the skin of the eyebrows to redden for a while after brow shaping. After sugaring, you may feel a slight tingling sensation, which will pass within a few minutes.
- We cover any redness with a red-neutralising concealer, so you can leave the salon after your brows are shaped without worrying about red brows.
- When sugaring the face area for the first time, such as the eyebrows, upper lip or cheeks, it is recommended to first sugar a small test area on the side of the face.
- There is a much higher density of fine hair growing on the face than on the rest of the body. Sometimes the sugaring of the facial hair can cause a “histamine reaction.” The reaction is not dangerous, but it does result in a small whitehead on the sugared area of skin.
- If the facial skin reacts in this way to sugaring, the reaction can be prevented before or reduced after sugaring with a common oral antihistamine. Of course, the suitability of antihistamine use should always be checked with your pharmacist or doctor.
Preparing for microblading
- If you have a medical condition or special condition (e.g. diabetes, bleeding disorder, allergy, blood thinning medication, HIV, hepatitis, etc.) that may affect your skin’s ability to tolerate or heal or the microblading procedure, it is recommended that you consult your doctor before having microblading performed.
- Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen 48 h before microblading.
- Do not use fish oil capsules for 14 days before microblading.
- If possible, come for microblading with light rather than heavy make-up.
- Be aware that your skin is very likely to become red after the procedure. So don’t plan important appointments or other outings for immediately after microblading.
- Do not drink alcohol in the previous 48 h or take caffeine on the day of the procedure. Caffeine accelerates blood flow and may affect wound drainage.
- Do not use skin care products containing vitamin A or AHAs for a month before microblading.
- Do not donate blood on the day of the procedure.
- Do not pluck your eyebrows for a week before the procedure.
- Please tell your microblading artist openly about anything that affects your skin or your health, such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, medications, illnesses, and especially cosmetic sensitivities, i.e. anything that may affect the success and successful healing of your microblading procedure.
Microblading cannot be performed if.
- you are under 18 years old
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- you have a scarpikeloid tendency
- you have a PPD allergy (permanent dye or hair dye allergy)
- allergy to any of the ingredients in the products
- you are on Isotretinoin (6 months precautionary period)
- you are sick (cold, fever, etc.)
- you have a skin infection or rash in the area to be treated
- you are under the influence of intoxicating substances
Microblading home care instructions
- It is important to treat microblading at home. By following these steps, you will heal faster, avoid possible infections and achieve the final colour result you want.
24 h after microblading
- do not touch or wet freshly made microblading
24 h after microblading
- rinse the eyebrows lightly
- apply only the treatment cream intended for this purpose to the treated area
- apply very lightly (no thick layers) to the treated area for the next 7 days, max. 2 times / day (morning and evening)
3-4 days after microblading
- avoid wetting the area and sweating
- a slight blush develops in the treated area and the colour appears darker than before
- natural cell renewal causes flaking of the skin
- do not scratch, scrape, rub, pluck or remove the scab in any way, as removing the scab will prevent the colour pigment from remaining in the tissue and the result will be uneven.
for 10 days after microblading
- use only a treatment cream intended for the treated area
- do not apply any other cosmetic products, make-up, soap or oils to the treated area.
- avoid any unnecessary touching of the facial skin, do not scratch the eyebrows
- do not have facials, massages or lash extensions
For one month after microblading
- no sun, tanning beds or other light treatments for the face
- no intensive facial treatments, such as chemical peels, microneedling, abrasion or intensive skin regeneration creams
- protect your eyebrows from the sun with SPF50 cream, sunglasses, a cap, etc.
Important to know about microblading and the healing process
- The colour immediately after microblading is much more intense than the final result. Mild scarring of the treated area makes the colour look even darker for a week or so, after which the excess colour is shed, “flaking off”, along with the dead skin cells.
- The permanent result is up to 50%-70% lighter/lighter than the previous treatment.
- A good result requires two – sometimes even three – treatments.
- New microblading always includes two sessions: the first treatment and the second, the so-called touch up.
- There is always a charge for additional sessions.
- In microblading, a re-treatment is done after 4 weeks at the earliest.
- As long as the healing process lasts, you should avoid taking saunas, hot long showers and sweating.
- Avoid applying make-up to the treated areas.
- The skin should be kept as calm as possible throughout the healing process.
- Itching is part of the normal healing process and scratching the skin is strictly forbidden. The colour pigment rises from the skin with the flakes and the result is patchy and uneven. So please do not scratch or pluck the scabs.
- The client is responsible for the aftercare of the treated area.
- Proper home care after microblading can have an impact on microblading and the scarring of the lines of up to 70%. So don’t neglect home care.
Microblading warranty conditions
- If you feel that your microblading needs to be corrected, please contact us no later than three weeks after the confirmation session.
- Our microblading professional will then assess the situation with you on an individual basis.
Good to know about eyelash extensions
Classic eyelash extensions and volume lashes should always be applied to clean natural eyelashes. It is recommended that lashes are washed 2-3 hours before lash application/maintenance.
Just as there are different types of hair, natural eyelashes also behave differently when wet and dry. If the client has porous natural eyelashes, there is no harm in wetting them just before the service. Natural eyelashes can be dried well by pressing them carefully against a tissue, for example.
For other customers, it may take longer for the natural grass to dry after irrigation. If there is still a lot of moisture inside the natural lash when the lashes are installed, the adhesive inside the natural lash will stop absorbing when it comes into contact with the moisture inside the lash. In this case, there is a risk that the adhesive will only adhere to the lash by surface adhesion.
A surface adhesive bond leads to premature breakage of the glue applicator and consequently the eyelash extensions fall off prematurely.
It is quite difficult for a professional to judge on a client-by-client basis whether watering the lashes just before the service is detrimental to their durability. For this reason, a general guideline for clients is to wash their lashes thoroughly about 2-3 hours before lash installation. Extensions cannot be applied to unclean lashes as this is more detrimental than watering the lashes before the service.
The natural life cycle of lashes is individual, about 4-12 weeks. During this time, all eyelashes will regrow. Normally, about 1 to 5 lashes are shed per day per eye, sometimes more. The eyelashes also shed the extension fibres attached to them. As the adhesive dressing ages, some of the fibres or volume fibres may also come off as such, without the lash itself. This is also quite normal, especially if it has been a while since your last lash treatment.
Preparing for eyelash extensions
- Please come to the eyelash extensions application without mascara and with clean, dry lashes. Cleaning your lashes heavily with make-up remover or even just water just before applying the lash extensions can significantly affect the adhesion of the mascara and thus the staying power of the lashes can be significantly worse than when applying dry, clean lashes.
- At least 2 hours should have passed since the last eye watering.
- If eye make-up is only cleaned during maintenance, it is likely to have a negative impact on the durability of the fibres.
- Please remove your contact lenses for the duration of your lash extension treatment.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you can take your eyelash extensions without worry. However, it’s good to know that lash extensions may not last as long as usual due to the different hormonal activity in your body. In this case, the normal guarantee for eyelash extensions is not valid for eyelash extensions applied during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- For thin and delicate lashes, we strongly recommend the use of a lash-strengthening and conditioning lashserum.
Who can’t have eyelash extensions?
- The age limit for eyelash extensions is 16 years.
- If you have an allergy to acrylate or to any other ingredient in eyelash glue.
- If you have an eye infection.
- If you have recently undergone permanent pigmentation of the eyes.
- If you have ulcers in the eyelid area.
- If you have an eye condition or have just had an eye operation, it is a good idea to consult your doctor before applying eyelash extensions.
About watering your lash extensions
Your lash technician will have a dryer and will lightly spray moisture on your lashes after they are applied. The moisture causes the mascara to harden very quickly and therefore there is no longer any need to wait to water your lashes after maintenance.
It should be noted that a professional uses a very small amount of moisture to cure the adhesive bond. If the lashes are soaked in plenty of water immediately after application without first curing the adhesive with a dryer, the adhesive will “shock cure” too quickly. The excessive watering also causes the water to be absorbed into the natural lashes before the adhesive has had time to soak into the natural lashes in the best possible way. This can again lead to the lash extensions falling off prematurely.
Home care instructions for eyelash extensions
- We still often come across the idea that eyelash extensions or volume lashes should not be washed or wet. This perception is wrong and careful cleaning of lashes with water and a cleaning product should definitely be part of the daily routine of every person who uses eyelash extensions.
- If lashes are not washed thoroughly every day, the dirt that accumulates at the base of the lashes prevents the absorption of the mascara into the natural lashes, and as a result the durability of the lash extensions suffers. Dirt trapped in the lashes contains bacteria that can cause a nasty infection of the eyelid, blepharitis, for example.
- Lashes and lash tips accumulate impurities from the skin and the environment. Users of eyelash extensions may try to improve the durability of their extensions by not watering them. In reality, not washing your lashes makes them less durable and, in the worst case, can even make them prone to infections.
- Never use oil-based products to clean your eyelash extensions.
Avoid 12 h after applying lashes
- Soaking, showering, washing eyes (to allow the adhesive bond to dry properly)
Avoid 24 h after applying lashes
- Spray tan
- Applying cream to the eye area
- Touching the lashes
- Mascara and eye make-up
- Sauna and hot steam
- Swimming and sweating
- Contact lenses
- Crying
- Sleeping on your stomach to prevent your eyelashes from turning the wrong way as they dry out
Avoid 48 h after applying lashes
- Hot steam
- Sauna
- Swimming
- Solarium
Always avoid with eyelash extensions
- Lash curlers
- Oil-based skin care products near the eyes
- Oil-based eye make-up removers must not be used at any time.
- Excessive eye make-up, the removal of which inevitably puts a strain on eyelash extensions.
- Mascara
- Touching and rubbing the lashes.
- Products, such as cotton pads and cotton buds, whose fibres stick to the extension fibres.
- Cleaning products other than those for eyelash extensions for cleaning eyelashes. Eyelash extensions cleaners are optimised to minimise stress on the adhesive bond of the eyelashes. This has a direct impact on the durability of the lashes.
- Lots of sauna bathing
Instructions for cleaning eyelash extensions
- Wet your hands and face with plenty of water.
- Apply a small amount of the cleaning product to the palm of your hand.
- Using a gentle circular motion, cleanse the lashes and the entire face area.
- Rinse your face.
- Dry face and lashes with light pressure.
- Brush your lashes if necessary.
- For more information on how to clean your eyelash extensions, contact your eyelash professional.
Guarantee conditions for eyelash extensions
- Our lashes come with a one week (7 days) guarantee. The guarantee does not cover lashes that have been incorrectly held or treated or if the 12-hour drying time has not been observed. Complaints should be reported immediately or at the latest 7 days after the application. After this time, the guarantee is no longer valid.
For the guarantee to be valid, please ensure that:
- You’ve come in with clean and dry lashes.
- You haven’t wet your lashes 2 h before you arrive.
- You have treated your eyelashes according to the treatment instructions.
- You have cleaned your eyelashes regularly.
- You have brushed your eyelashes every day.
- You have used a detergent for eyelash extensions.
- You have only used oil-free skin care products.
- You have not used any medicated drops or creams on your eyes or eyelids.
- The length and weight of the lash extensions are chosen according to the condition of your lashes. If you have requested lashes that are too long or too heavy, despite the recommendations of a professional, the guarantee does not cover lash repair.
- You haven’t travelled to warm countries on a beach holiday.
- If your eyes have bled profusely during the application for reasons beyond your control, the warranty conditions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Repairs due to poor durability alone are free of charge only once per repair.
- Only when properly treated will your extensions have a guarantee.
Possible reasons for the poor permanence of eyelash extensions
- Use of oily skin care products near the eyes.
- Use of an oil-based make-up remover.
- Poor washing or otherwise inadequate home care of eyelash extensions.
- Hot or tropical hot and humid air and bathing.
- Watery eyes, profuse crying, rubbing of the eyes.
- Sleeping on your stomach.
- The rapid growth cycle of natural grasses.
- The quality and growth of lashes is affected by natural products, medicines and diseases such as biotin, antibiotics, hormones, pregnancy, breastfeeding, thyroid disorders, stress, hormonal contraception.
- Installation conditions for rip rap; temperature and humidity.
Preparing for permanent eyelash curler treatment
- You haven’t used any oil-based products on your lashes for 4-8 weeks before your perm, have you? Using oil-based products – especially castor oil or coconut oil – on your lashes is very likely to saturate your lashes with oil and create an impermeable film. In this case, the active ingredients of the treatment cannot penetrate the lashes through the oil layer and this can significantly affect the final result of the treatment.
- Please come to the perm without mascara, if possible.
- Please remove your contact lenses before your permanent lift.
- If you have had eyelash extensions, you should wait one lash growth period (8 weeks) before having a permanent lash lift.
- The permanent plaster can be renewed about every 8 weeks, not more often.
Obstacles to permanent eyelash extensions
- You are under 16 years old.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding. Permanent lash curlers do not affect pregnancy or breastfeeding, but changes in the body’s hormonal activity may have a negative effect on the final result of the treatment and, in the worst case, your lashes may not curl at all.
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in the products.
- You have alopecia.
- You have an eye infection or inflammation of the eyelid.
- You have a skin rash around your eyes.
- You have trichotillomania.
- You are currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
Home care guidelines for long-term care
- Do not water your lashes for the next 48 hours, as water will dry out chemically treated hair unnecessarily.
- Do not use mascara for the next 48 hours.
- After 48 h, you can safely apply mascara and make-up. However, avoid using waterproof mascara.
- Moisturise your lashes twice a day with Yumi™Lashes moisturising and nourishing colourless mascara. Lashes stay more beautiful, vibrant and beautifully curved for longer when you moisturise daily.
- Brush your lashes every morning and evening to keep them neat and tidy and to do justice to their full length.
- The effect of lash lift does not “stop”, but the curling “grows out” gradually as the old curled lashes are removed and replaced by new, unbent lashes.
- You can have a new Yumi™Lashes treatment after about 8 weeks.
- Just like any chemically treated hair, such as permed hair or permed lashes, lash lift lashes require care.
- Maintenance is easy and hassle-free, basically just brushing your lashes into position every day is enough.
- We also strongly recommend buying a home care product designed for this purpose. Only by treating chemically treated hair with a moisturising and nourishing home care product can you ensure that the hair is adequately cared for and therefore that the results are permanent.
- Keratin Mascara and Serum Mascara are both very rich and colourless home care products, either of which can be used as a conditioner for both lashes and brows.
Terms and conditions of the guarantee for lasting drying treatment
- If you feel that your permanent curvature has been left too thin or alternatively you feel that the curvature of your eyelashes is too tight, the result of the treatment can be corrected within one week (7 days) of the original treatment date. In this case, please contact us without delay to book a repair.
Preparing to laminate corners
- You haven’t used oil-based products on your brows for 4-8 weeks before laminating them, have you? Using oil-based products – especially castor oil or coconut oil – on your brows is very likely to saturate your brows with oil and create an impermeable film on your brows. In this case, the active ingredients of the treatment will not be able to penetrate the brows through the oil layer and this may significantly affect the final result of the treatment.
- Don’t get your eyebrows laminated too close to an important occasion or holiday. Breaking the structure of the hair makes it temporarily porous, which means that the permanent colouring applied during lamination will stick to the hair more than usual. As a result, after a few days of lamination, the eyebrows will be darker than the final result. So leave at least four days between the lamination of your eyebrows and your important event.
- Self-tanning products may react with permanent tints, so it is best to avoid using facial self-tanners for a few days before and a few days after brow lamination and permanent tinting.
- After brow lamination, it is particularly important to treat your eyebrows with a moisturising and nourishing product. After your treatment, remember to take a keratin serum for eyelashes and eyebrows with you to keep your eyebrows looking beautiful and vibrant for longer.
- In order to laminate the eyebrows, the eyebrows must not be too sparse. If you are interested in the possibility of eyebrow lamination for your eyebrows, please contact our customer service by e-mail, with photos. We will be happy to give you an estimate of your brows before booking an appointment.
- Eyebrow lamination can be renewed every 4-6 weeks, depending on the growth cycle of your eyebrows.
Barriers to corner lamination
- You are under 16 years old.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in the products.
- You have alopecia.
- You have an eye infection or inflammation of the eyelids.
- You have trichotillomania.
- You are currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
After laminating the corners
- Just like any chemically treated hair, such as permed hair or permed eyelashes, brow lift treated eyebrows also require care. Maintenance is easy and hassle-free, practically just brushing the eyebrows into position every day is enough.
- We also strongly recommend buying a home care product designed for this purpose. Only by treating chemically treated hair with a moisturising and nourishing home care product can you ensure that the hair is adequately cared for and therefore that the results are permanent.
- Keratin Mascara or Serum Mascara are both very sufficient colourless home care products that are suitable as conditioners for both eyelashes and eyebrows.
YUMI™Brows eyebrow lamination home care instructions
- These tips will help you keep your eyebrows looking their best for longer.
- Do not water your eyebrows for two days, as water can dry out chemically treated hair.
- Do not apply make-up to your eyebrows 24 h after lamination.
- Moisturise your brows 1-2 times a day with Yumi™Lashes moisturising and nourishing colourless mascara. It’s a very rich colourless product that is suitable as a conditioner for both eyelashes and brows. Eyebrows stay more beautiful and vibrant for longer when moisturised and nourished daily.
- Brush your eyebrows into position every day. This will keep them neat and tidy.
- Eyes and eyebrows can also be made up normally after a brow lift. However, the use of waterproof make-up is not recommended.
- Taking supplements to stimulate hair growth, or using serums intended for this purpose, may accelerate hair regrowth, which may result in a shorter lasting treatment than usual. The normal life cycle of eyebrow hair is about 8-12 weeks.
- The effect of eyebrow lamination on the eyebrows does not “stop”, but the lamination “grows out” little by little as the old eyebrows are removed and replaced by new eyebrows.
- You can have a new Yumi™Brows brow lift after about 4-6 weeks.
Guarantee conditions for brow lamination
- If you feel that your brow lift has been left too pale or, alternatively, too showy, the result of the treatment can be corrected within one week (7 days) of the original treatment date. In this case, please contact us without delay to book a repair.
Preparing for make-up
- Please let us know as much as possible about your wishes in advance. You can already tell us your age, the colour of your eyes, the event you are going to, if there is anything special about your skin condition, if you wear glasses, etc.
- You can already send us in advance by e-mail, or at the latest show your make-up artist at the beginning of your make-up session, pictures of the make-up you might want.
- You don’t have to have a preconceived idea of what kind of make-up you want. You can also give the make-up artist a free hand to do your make-up if you wish.
- Make sure you tell the make-up artist clearly the level of darkness you want.
- You should arrive at the make-up session with a clean, make-up-free face, moisturised.
- You can bring your own mascara, so you can apply directly with a mascara brush. However, this is not compulsory.
- You can bring your own lipstick, which you can add during the day as needed. Of course, this is not compulsory.
- Fenix does not sell make-up, so you cannot buy lipstick from us, for example.
Hair and nails
Preparation and home care instructions for hair colouring and successful gel polish and structural nail care.
Preparing for a hair cut
- There is no need to prepare for a haircut.
- You don’t need to wash your hair before the surgery, as it will be washed by a hairdresser before the surgery.
- You are welcome to bring along photos if you have a particular hair style in mind.
Home care instructions for hair cuts
- Some hair styles need more maintenance and styling than others. Our hairdresser will be happy to show you how to get the best out of your hair at home.
Barriers to hair cutting
- You cannot have a haircut if you are not allowed to wash your hair. The hairdresser’s main tool – scissors – will suffer if they are used to cut unwashed hair. Hair cutting is most often done when the hair is wet, so washing the hair is also an essential part of the haircut.
- Please do not come for hair cuts when you have a fever or are otherwise ill.
Guarantee conditions for hair cuts
- Our hair cuts come with a one-week (7-day) guarantee. Complaints should be reported immediately or at the latest 7 days after the hair cut. After this time, the guarantee is no longer valid.
Preparing for hair dyeing
- If you want a big change in your hair colour, please contact us in advance.
- You can make an appointment with our hairdresser for a free on-site consultation, or you can email us photos of your current hair and your desired result.
- We will be happy to give you an estimate in advance of the feasibility, frequency and cost of the modification.
- Please note that when dyeing hair from dark to blonde, it usually takes neither one nor two treatments. It takes much more work and more treatments to go from black to blonde than from blonde to black.
- You should always come to a hair colouring session with unwashed hair. We recommend a 1-2 day interval between washing and colouring. The natural oils and sebum in the scalp and hair protect the scalp from the dyes applied to it.
- We only do hair colouring for people aged 16 and over, no younger.
Hair dye home care instructions
- After hair colour treatment, hair should be treated with the right products to ensure that the hair is as healthy as possible, and that colour and texture treatments are possible in the future. Our hairdressers will be happy to recommend the best products for you.
- To preserve and maintain the shade of cool blonde hair, always use a silver shampoo and conditioner designed for this purpose in home care. Without these products, the cold blonde tone will disappear from the hair and the hair tone will revert from cold to warm, usually yellowish.
- Maintenance treatment of cold blonde hair with products designed for this purpose should be started immediately after colouring. The hair should not be allowed to turn yellow first, as it is almost impossible to regain a cold blonde shade once lost with home care products alone.
Barriers to hair dyeing or bleaching
- You are under 16 years old.
- You are allergic to hair dyes or permanent eyelash and eyebrow tints or have ever had an allergic reaction to hair, eyelash or eyebrow tinting.
- You have been diagnosed with a ppd allergy.
- You feel sick (fever, etc.) or your scalp is broken.
- The condition of your hair is such that it cannot withstand bleaching, which is much more stressful than colouring.
Guarantee conditions for hair dyeing
- Our hair colour treatments come with a one week (7 days) guarantee. Complaints should be reported immediately or at the latest 7 days after the hair colouring. After this time, the guarantee is no longer valid.
- Our conditions of guarantee include careful adherence to home care instructions – especially when it comes to bleaching work.
Home Colours
- If you’ve been using home dyes, make sure you acknowledge this to your hairdresser straight away, before you start your colour treatment. Home dyes can often prevent professional dyes from working, so in the worst case, the colour treatment you are having will not produce any results and you will lose both time and money in unnecessary colour treatment.
- The hairdresser always sees the use of home dyes at the latest when professional dyes do not produce any result on the hair after the exposure time. Hair coloured with home dyes can be successfully coloured by a hairdresser, but the hairdresser should always know about the home dye used beforehand. In this way, the hairdresser can choose the right products and techniques to achieve the best possible results.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- It is not forbidden to dye your hair during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, it is good to know that the success and permanence of any kind of chemical treatment, such as colouring and perming during pregnancy and breastfeeding, is very individual.
- The scale of success and permanence of colours and perms is very wide. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you can have the best or worst perm of your life. Your colour may be perfect or it may not stick to your hair at all.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding confuse the hormonal activity of women so that unfortunately we cannot give any guarantee that chemical hair treatments will be successful. It is therefore good to know that the failure of a chemical treatment in these cases is not a justification for a marketing discharge.
Allergy
- Hair dyes, like any other cosmetics, can cause allergies. If you have had an allergic reaction to a hair dye in the past, it is recommended that you never dye your hair, eyelashes or eyebrows with any permanent dyes ever again.
Getting ready for a hairstyle
- You are welcome to send us a photo of your hair in advance, as well as photos of the style you would like. This will help the hairdresser to assess the feasibility of the hairstyle for your hair, as well as the time it will take.
- Please also let us know if the hairstyle is to be accompanied by a headdress, graduation cap or hairpiece, for example. We would also love to see a picture of your party outfit and the colour scheme of your party day.
- Always come to the hairdresser with freshly washed, dry hair. The time allotted for the hairstyle does not include the time spent washing and drying your hair.
Barriers to combing
- You cannot have your hair done if you feel ill, have a fever, etc.
Guarantee conditions for hairstyles
- Complaints about hairstyles are always handled on a case-by-case basis and immediately.
- Always have your gel polish serviced by a professional nail technician every 2-3 weeks. Even if your nails are still in good condition, they need to be maintained to prevent nail growth and problems.
- Especially in frosty weather, it’s good to know that natural nail polish and gel polish react very differently to strong temperature changes.
- The natural nail expands in warm weather and contracts in cold. Gel polish, on the other hand, reacts to temperature changes by stiffening momentarily to a high degree of rigidity, making it more prone to chipping or other problems of permanence. For this reason, we recommend that gloves are always worn during extreme temperature fluctuations, even on short journeys.
- With regular maintenance, your gel polish will stay looking beautiful all the time.
Preparing for gel varnish or strengthening your own nails
- You can come to a gel polish even if you have nail polish. Our nail technicians will remove your nail polish in no time.
- The condition of the nail always has an impact on the durability of the gel coat. So please take care of your hands and nails daily with hand cream and cuticle oil.
- Our gelcoats always include the removal of the old gelcoat. We also remove gel polishes that have been applied elsewhere.
- A separate appointment for gel polish removal will only be booked if there is no intention to reapply gel polish or have other nail services performed after removal.
- When booking your appointment, please consider whether you want a monochrome, French or baby boomer polish, as these services have slightly different durations.
- If you want a decorative polish, please only book an appointment with our nail technicians. Our cosmetologists do not do decorative polish.
Barriers to gel varnish and own nail strengthening
- You are under 16 years old.
- You have an acrylate allergy.
- You have a fungal infection on your nails.
- You have a nail growth disorder, such as onycholysis (nail loss at the tip) or onychomadesis (nail loss at the base).
Home care instructions for gel varnish and strengthening your own nails
- Your nails are the adornment of your hands. So treat your nails like jewellery, don’t treat them like tools.
- Do not pull, pluck, twist or bite your fingernails, cuticles or the skin on your fingertips. Skin irritations can make it difficult to perform the service and achieve a good result the next time.
- Never use your nails as tools. It prevents unnecessary wear and breakage of nails, as well as problems with their permanence.
- Wear protective gloves when handling colouring substances such as beetroot, blueberries, hair dyes.
- Be careful with the buttons and knobs: use a finger joint or other aid such as a pen. This prevents possible sticking problems and nail breakage.
- Wear protective gloves when your nails or hands are exposed to dirt or chemicals (e.g. when doing housework) or when gardening.
- Be careful when handling zippers, seat belts, child seats, toilet seat flush buttons, boxes, key chains or handbags. These places are likely to cause breakage and chipping of gel varnishes and nails.
- Remember good hand hygiene: brush your nail beds, use a good quality hand sanitiser and disinfect your hands and nails if necessary.
- Don’t file your nails. The tip of the nail is sealed with varnish to ensure the gel varnish stays on. Breaking the tip seal will remove the seal of the varnish and is likely to cause the varnish to come off the tip.
- Use cuticle oil regularly every day.
Warranty conditions for gelcoats
- Geelilakkauksillamme on yhden viikon (seitsemän vuorokauden) takuu. Takuumme kattaa työstä tai työssä käytetyistä tuotteista johtuvat mahdolliset virheet.
- The guarantee does not cover breakage due to failure to follow home care instructions, chipping of the varnish when nails hit the edge of a table, wear and tear of the gel polish or the removal of individual decorations.
- For gel polish warranty issues, please contact us without delay with photos illustrating your situation.
- Have your structural nails serviced by a professional nail designer every 3-5 weeks. Even if your nails are still in good condition, they need to be maintained for nail growth and to prevent problems.
- The growth of a natural nail causes the structure to grow with the nail. In this case, the support built into the nail “outgrows” the natural nail, and the structure no longer protects the nail itself. An overgrown structural nail is highly prone to accidents.
- Especially in freezing temperatures, it is good to know that natural nail and structural nail mass react very differently to strong temperature changes.
- The natural nail expands in warm weather and contracts in cold. The structural gel mass, on the other hand, does not react nearly as significantly to temperature changes, which can lead to problems with the stability of the gel mass in structural nails, especially in winter. For this reason, we recommend that you always wear gloves during extreme temperature fluctuations, even for short journeys.
- With regular maintenance, your structures will remain consistently presentable and strong.
Preparing to apply structural nails
- You can come for a structural nailing session even if you have nail polish. Our nail technicians will remove nail polish in no time.
- The condition of the nail always has an impact on the durability of structural nails. So please take care of your hands and nails daily with hand cream and cuticle oil even before applying the nails.
- Our structural nail services always include the removal of old structural nail polish.
- A separate time will only be set aside for the removal of structural nails if there is no intention to replace them after removal.
- When booking your appointment, please take into account whether you want one color, french, baby boomer, stiletto or even highly decorative gel nails. Some nail services can be of significantly different lengths, so it’s good to know that you won’t have time to do extra-long decorative stiletto nails in the same time frame as monochrome nails.
Obstacles to structural nails
- You are under 16 years old.
- You have an acrylate allergy.
- You have a fungal infection on your nails.
- You have an inflammation on the skin around your fingernail or fingertip.
- You have a nail growth disorder, such as onycholysis (nail loss at the tip) or onychomadesis (nail loss at the base).
Home care instructions for structural nails
- Do not tear or pluck your nails, cuticles or building paste.
- Do not try to remove the building mass yourself.
- Never use your nails as tools.
- Don’t use your fingernails to open cans or scratch sauce stains. Open car doors gently and be careful with zippers, child seats, toilet seat flush buttons, seat belts, and when digging through a handbag, for example. These are the places that most often cause breakage and chipping of artificial nails.
- Be careful with the buttons and knobs: use a knuckle or other tool such as a pen.
- Do not put unnecessary strain on your nails.
- Do not leave nails under heavy boxes or between doors.
- Be careful in the gym with weights, when lifting things or boxes, when opening the car door, when wearing a seat belt or using zippers.
- Wear protective gloves when your nails or hands are exposed to dirt or chemicals (e.g. when doing domestic work).
- Remember good hand hygiene: brush your nail beds, use a good quality hand sanitiser and disinfect your hands and nails if necessary.
- Avoid using nail polish and unnecessary filing.
- Use cuticle oil.
Warranty conditions for construction nails
- Our gel nails come with a one-week (seven-day) guarantee. Our guarantee covers any defects caused by the work or products used in the work.
- The guarantee does not cover breakages due to failure to follow home care instructions, or breakages due to poor condition of your own nails or excessively long structural nails.
- For warranty issues related to artificial gel nails, please contact us without delay with photos illustrating your situation.
Body treatments and others
How to prepare for sugaring and how to manage home care after ear piercing – read the instructions here!
Preparing for foot treatment
- No special preparation is needed for a pedicure.
- If possible, we recommend that you come to your pedicure without nail polish, so that you don’t waste time removing nail polish.
- If you would like your pedicure to focus on a specific problem or area, please let your cosmetologist know.
- If you have any requests regarding the intensity of the massage, please feel free to tell your cosmetologist.
- If possible, we recommend wearing flip-flops to your pedicure to avoid destroying your newly polished nails in shoes and socks.
- Please note that if you have very challenging feet, one treatment may not be enough. In challenging cases, we also strongly recommend that you consider seeing a podiatrist.
- Please note that all our foot treatments are carried out by our beauticians.
Barriers to foot care
- Open wounds in the treated area
- Varicose veins and bruising (for massage)
- Product allergies
Home care guidelines for foot care
- Moisturise your feet with foot cream every day.
- Don’t file your feet too much, as this will accelerate the growth of calluses even more.
- Don’t cut your nails too short.
- Treat the skin on your feet to a scrub or mask every now and then.
Foot care guarantee conditions
- Complaints about foot treatments are always dealt with on a case-by-case basis and immediately. Please contact us without delay.
Preparing for ear re’ization
- Ear piercing for children
For children, we recommend using Emla numbing cream, available from a pharmacy, on the earlobes for at least an hour before the piercing. This will numb the earlobe sufficiently and the child will likely not even notice that the piercing is being done. - Parents’ role in children’s ear piercing
It is a good idea for parents to discuss ear piercing and any fears or anxiety the child may have about it with their child at home in advance. We will perform the piercing, but we cannot and will not want to force the child to do it. It is the parents’ job to discuss the issues related to ear piercing at home in advance so that the child is willing to have their ears pierced when they come.
It is also good to know that since our earrings are individually packaged sterile, we always have to charge the full price for the jewelry if the jewelry packaging has been opened and the child then refuses to have the piercing.
Home care instructions for ear piercing
- A piercing hole is a small wound. It is therefore important to take proper care of it throughout the healing period to prevent the hole from becoming infected. Following home care guidelines will minimise the risk of infection.
- Do not touch your ears with dirty hands.
- Don’t twirl your earrings. (Back in the 90s, twirling was still recommended, but with modern jewellery it has become unnecessary and twirling new earrings with unwashed hands is mostly harmful.)
- Clean the newly pierced ears thoroughly on both sides twice a day. Do not remove jewellery during cleaning. When washing, use liquid soap and rinse well with plenty of water. Dry with facial tissue or cotton swab.
- Ensure that the perforated area is kept clean, dry and airy at all times.
- Protect your ears when applying hairspray, perfume, make-up, hair dye, etc.
- Be especially careful when putting on or taking off clothes over your head to avoid jewellery getting caught on your clothes.
- Avoid swimming in a pool, lake or sea for as long as possible after the puncture. Also avoid keeping your head underwater. When you come out of the water, clean your earlobes with water and liquid soap.
- After about six weeks, you can exchange the pierced jewellery for new jewellery. How to remove pierced jewellery: wash your hands and earlobes thoroughly. Take hold of the front of the jewellery with one hand. With the other, grasp the back of the jewellery and twist it back and forth until it loosens and comes off. Carefully remove the jewellery and replace it with new, clean jewellery.
- It takes about a year for the holes to heal completely. Therefore, please note the following:
- Always wear earrings. If you don’t, the holes may shrink and/or close completely.
- Be especially careful when changing earrings. The skin that has grown around the holes is still very thin and can tear easily. This can cause an infection. Therefore, always make sure that you wash your earrings and hands before changing them and make sure that the area around the holes is kept clean, dry and airy. If you wear jewellery with a wide butterfly backing, it should not be pressed tightly against the earlobe.
- The risk of contact allergy is highest during the first year. This is why it is particularly important to wear safe earrings, especially during the first year. We recommend Blomdahl’s skin-friendly titanium earrings.
IF THE EARRING OR ITS BACK COME SOFF
Just like any other earring, piercing jewelry can also come off and be lost. Especially sleeping, dressing, undressing, hobbies, games and play can tear off the piercing jewelry. If your piercing jewelry comes off or is lost, you can buy a new piercing jewelry from us for €10. The ear piercing service does not guarantee new jewelry to replace any lost jewelry.
- if the back part came off, put it back in place
- If the back of the ear ring is lost, you can come and buy a new back part from us for €10 (the entire piercing jewelry, unfortunately the manufacturer does not sell back parts separately)
- if the entire earring came off, put it back on
- if an earring is lost, put any earring in its place
- you can also come and buy a new era piercing ring from us at 10€
- Do not leave a newly pierced hole without jewelry, the hole will close quickly.
- for young children, a freshly made perforation can heal within hours.
- If you need help replacing a loose earring, please contact our customer service.
- If the pikercing has already closed, the new piece of jewelry can be put in place only by doing the piercing again, just like the first time.
- a new piercing will require booking an appointment
- The warranty for putting on earrings does not cover a new back, new jewelry, or new piercing
- If new piercing is required, the price of the new work will be charged.
IMPORTANT!
- Redness, swelling, pain or itching are signs of possible inflammation. In this case, remove the jewellery and clean and disinfect the earlobe thoroughly. If the earlobe is not better the next day, contact your doctor.
Warranty conditions for ear piercing
- Complaints about ear piercings are always dealt with on a case-by-case basis and immediately. Please contact us without delay.
Preparing for sugaring
- There is only one important rule before going in for sugaring: don’t shave your hair for at least two weeks before sugaring. Any hair shaved in the last week, from anywhere on the body, is likely to be so short (less than 5 mm) that it will not come off with sugaring.
- Our beautician may try his or her best to remove hair that is too short, but it is basically certain that there is no way to achieve a wonderfully soft and perfectly silky result. It is even possible that a short stubble will not come off at all when sugaring.
- Coming to a sugaring session with a too short hair is considered as booked and used time and will be charged the full price, regardless of the outcome of the sugaring. We therefore strongly recommend that you leave the “shaving” well in advance of the sugaring.
- Let your hairs grow to at least 5 mm in length.
- Do not apply the moisturiser to the area to be sugared for 24 hours.
- Do not peel the skin from the area to be sugared for 24 hours.
- Do not shave the hair from the area to be sugared for at least 14 days before sugaring.
Preparing for facial sugaring
Read more useful information on sugaring here.
For more information on Brazilian sugaring, click here.
Barriers to sugar production
- Fragile skin.
- Medicated creams in the sugared area.
- Sunburned skin in the area to be sugared.
- At least 6 months after the end of isotretinoin treatment.
Home care instructions after sugaring
- Do not exfoliate the skin on the day of, the day before or the day after sugaring.
- Avoid wearing tight, abrasive clothing immediately after treatment.
- Avoid sauna and sports, i.e. heavy sweating, for 12 hours.
- If you have had your underarm hair removed, avoid using deodorant for 12 hours.
- If you’ve had your facial hair removed, avoid clogging make-up for 12 hours
- Avoid sun (and tanning beds) on the same day and protect your skin from the sun the next day.
- Remember to moisturise daily and exfoliate twice a week to effectively prevent ingrown hairs.
- Do not scratch or scrub the skin after treatment.
- A little redness on the skin immediately after sugaring is perfectly normal. It usually goes away in a moment.
Guarantee conditions for sugar production
- Complaints about sugarring will always be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and immediately. Please contact us without delay.
- We have two different shades of tanning solution, and the possibility of mixing them. You don’t need to know in advance which shade of tan you want. The best colour for you will be found together with your cosmetologist.
- A spray tan involves up to two coats of tanning solution. If you want a particularly dark finish, three or even four coats of tanning solution can be applied. An additional charge is made for the third and fourth coats.
- A single coat of tanning lotion gives a natural tan. With two coats, the colour is more like a tan.
- Do not do facials, microblading, any eyelash and eyebrow services, sugaring or massage on the same day as your tan.
- If you are having any hair or beauty services done on the same day as your shower tan, please ensure that the other services are done first and the shower tan last.
Preparing for jet cooking
- Kuori iho kuorinta-aineella edellisenä iltana. Älä käytä öljypohjaista kuorinta-ainetta. Öljyt voivat estää rusketusainetta imeytymästä ihoon.
- Moisturise your skin well the night before. Pay particular attention to the driest areas of the body, such as the sides of the heels, knees, elbows and hands.
- Do not moisturize your skin for at least 4 hours before your spray tanning. Moisturizers can prevent the tanning agent from being absorbed into the skin.
- Exfoliate your skin between each tanning session to ensure that your tan is always as even as possible.
- Preferably do any hair removal the day before, shin hair, bikini line and underarms, but at least 6 hours before the tanning treatment.
- Sugaring should be done at least 12 h earlier to allow the pores to close before tanning.
- The skin should be clean before tanning, so remove make-up, perfume and deodorant before treatment with an oil-free cleanser for the best possible tan.
- We provide you with disposable underwear for shower tanning, but you can also wear your own underwear or bikini if you wish. Remember to bring a clean change of clothes with you.
- Shower tanning is usually done topless and can also be done without underwear if a limitless tan is desired.
- Dress in dark, loose clothing to avoid clothes rubbing off on your tan.
- The tanning agent comes from larger parts of the garment, but the cosmetic dye can in some cases cause the final discolouration of the colour on the garment. For this reason, we always recommend dark loose clothing after tanning.
- Do not wear wool, nylon or silk clothing after tanning for at least 8 hours, as the tanning agent may react with these materials and stain them.
- You should take a shower 1-2 days before the important day, not earlier.
Obstacles to showering
- Product allergies
- Broken skin
- Inflamed skin
Home care instructions for showering education
- The colour starts to develop immediately and is “finished” after about 8 hours.
- Avoid showering, bathing, sweating profusely and using cosmetics for about 10 hours.
- Avoid unnecessary touching or rubbing of the skin for about 10 hours.
- After showering, pat your skin dry with a towel, do not “wipe or rub.” This will help your tan stay beautifully even for longer.
- We recommend that you use self-tanning products on your skin after a spray tan to prolong the duration of your tan. Moisturising your skin with a moisturiser alone will prolong the life of your tan.
- Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing. Tanning lotion will come off most of your clothing, but cosmetic dye can sometimes cause permanent discoloration of the color on your clothing. Do not wear wool, nylon or silk clothing after tanning for at least 8 hours, as the tanning agent may react with these materials and stain them.
- Remember that just like tanning in the sun, the final result of a spray tan is also affected by your skin’s sensitivity to tanning, skin pH and skin type. So don’t compare your tan to others. Everyone’s tan is always unique.
- All our body massages, or the massages included in our pampering packages, are gentle cosmetic pampering massages performed by our professional beauticians.
- The massages performed by our beauticians are not aimed at opening muscle fibres or shaping deep tissues, but at relaxing the skin, relieving stress and pampering.
- If you are looking for a more intense, muscle-opening massage, we recommend that you contact a trained masseuse.
Duration of massage
- For example, a 60 min appointment for a client includes arrival at the salon, undressing, dressing, checkout and possible re-booking. Please note that the booked time always includes all these activities. In the “60 min massage” treatment, the time spent on the massage itself is never a full 60 minutes.
Preparing for a massage
- No special preparation is needed for a massage.
- We mostly use scented oils in our massages to stimulate all the senses. If you wish to use unscented oils, please mention this to your beautician.
- During the massage, you lie on your stomach with your face downwards in the “massage hole”, so it is easy to get a little temporary swelling on your face during the massage. This should be taken into account when planning post-massage activities.
- Make-up is easily messed up because of the massage hole. This is also something to consider when planning post-massage outings.
Barriers to massage
- Please only come to the massage in good health. Illnesses such as flu, infectious skin diseases, high blood pressure, heart disease or malignant tumours are not permitted.
- Pregnancy is not a barrier to massage, but advanced pregnancy can make back massage difficult, in which case the carer should be able to lie on their stomach.
- Please also note that there should be no inflammation, open wound, bruising, varicose veins, fracture, tear, strain or other muscle discomfort in the area to be massaged.
Home care guide for massage
- After the massage, it is a good idea to drink plenty of water for the rest of the day. Alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours after the massage.
- Try to have a relaxed day to make the most of your massage.
