Clean and well-groomed hands are like our business card – they are always on show.

Looking after your own hands and nails at home can sometimes feel like a chore. In this case, it is best to have your hands treated by a professional.

Our manicures – choose yours

We offer a wide range of manicures, or hand treatments. You can have a manicure with us with a regular nail polish or a gel polish. French polish is a speciality – we only offer it with gel polish.

Our basic manicures include:

  • hand cream
  • Taking care of cuticles
  • Nail clipping/filing
  • nail polish (can be left out at the client’s request)

You can also have a manicure with gel polish, which is more durable than regular nail polish. The gel polish also dries immediately and completely after curing, so even if your nails hit something immediately after the polish, it won’t mess up.

Manicures with gel polish include:

  • Taking care of cuticles
  • Nail clipping/filing
  • Polishing with gel polish
  • hand cream

A French manicure is a certain way of polishing your nails. In a traditional French manicure, the tips of the nails are polished in off-white and the rest of the nail is polished in a nude colour to enhance the natural colour of the nail.

Nowadays, there are also modern versions of French polish, where the tip of the nail is precisely painted in any colour and the rest of the nail is painted in any colour.

In French polish, however, the tip of the nail is always a different colour to the nail bed and the line between the colours is very precise.

We only do French polish with gel polish (and of course also with construction nails).

Like other hand treatments, French manicures include taking care of cuticles, nail trimming/filing, nail polishing and hand cream.

Frequently asked questions

A manicure is a cosmetic treatment for hands and nails. The word comes from the Latin words manus, meaning hand, and cura, meaning treatment.

The manicure usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the nail artist or esthetician and the service.

At Fenix, manicures are performed by both nail technicians and estheticians

Nail technicians who treat hands and nails as their main job are often faster than estheticians, but all our professionals perform manicures in the same way, which means that the same aspects of the treatment are covered, regardless of the practitioner and the duration of the treatment.

The drying time of nail polish depends on many factors. It is influenced by the preparation used, the composition of the varnish, the solvents in the solution and the pigment in the polish.

The drying of nail polish is in fact an evaporation process. The varnish “dries” as the solvents it contains slowly evaporate from the varnish.

Nail polish is drying from top to bottom. The top coat may feel completely dry after only 10 minutes, but towards the bottom the polish may be very wet. In this case, the polish may be shaken if the nails hit something, even if the polish seems completely dry on the surface.

The more colour pigment in the varnish, the slower it usually dries. A high pigment content makes the varnish thicker and slower for solvents to evaporate. For this reason, intense red polish dries much more slowly than light pearlescent polish. It is not at all uncommon for a highly pigmented polish to be dry even after more than an hour.

The drying rate of a varnish is always individual and varnish-specific, and cannot be predicted in advance. We always use fast-drying top coats and quick-drying nail polishes in our manicures, but even so, we cannot guarantee that the polish will dry completely immediately after the treatment.

For the above reasons, Beauty Centre Fenix is not responsible for nail polishing after leaving the manicure. Hitting fresh nail polish anywhere, such as when taking keys out of your pocket or digging your wallet out of your handbag, can easily ruin the polish. With gel polish, of course, there is no such risk.

The treatment starts with a moisturising exfoliating scrub to ensure that the ingredients are absorbed into the skin as effectively as possible. The hands are then immersed 5 times in a paraffin bath.

As the paraffin solidifies, it forms a “shell” on the skin, which is covered with a plastic bag and a terry cloth heating pad to enhance the effect of the treatment.

Allow 10-15 minutes for the paraffin to take effect on the hands. The paraffin shell is then removed from the hands. At the end of the treatment, the skin on your hands is heavenly soft.

Of course! Our range includes a children’s manicure for 5-12 year olds , including hand bathing, nail care and polishing. So welcome to pamper your children too!
