A haircut is an important part of hair care and style. It keeps hair healthy and provides an opportunity to personalise your look and express your personality. Hair cutting can be either shortening the length, layering or changing the shape to the desired style.

There are countless styles of cut, varying in length, shape and structure. The choice of style is often influenced by hair type, face shape, and personal taste.

With a flat cut, all hair is cut to the same length, creating a clean and minimalist look. This is ideal for long and straight hair, for example. This style is commonly referred to as straightcut.

In a layered cut, the hair is cut in layers of different lengths, which adds movement and volume to the hair. Especially suitable for long and medium length hair. For thick hair, layering adds lightness and airiness.

A layered, slightly messy and relaxed cut that adds volume and movement. Great for both straight and curly hair, it’s known for its 70’s influences.

The more modern shag is a style that has been revamped with lighter layers and a softer texture, giving it a modern and trendy look.

The pixie cut is a short and bold cut that accentuates the features of the face. Pixie is versatile and can be either smooth and classic or more relaxed and carefree.

A bob haircut, or polkkatukka haircut in Finnish, is usually a straight or slightly layered hairstyle cut to the chin or slightly longer. It is an elegant and modern style that suits many face shapes.

Fade is a common men’s cut, where the hair is longer at the top and gradually shorter at the sides towards the neck. Gives a neat and modern look.

An undercut is when the lower part of the hair is cut short, but the top part is left longer. This style creates contrast and drama in the hairstyle.

Our barbers also offer moustache trimming and beard removal by machine. We do not do American shaving.

Frequently asked questions

Haircuts are usually recommended every 6-8 weeks, but the type of hair and the style you want to achieve will affect the timing. For example, short hairstyles require more frequent maintenance, while long hair can survive with fewer cuts.

Haircuts are for women and barber cuts are for men.

The Gender Equality Act, which came into force in 2009, removed gender-based pricing from the pricing of services and products, after which women’s and men’s haircuts were removed from price lists.

However, women’s hair is cut by different technicians than men’s hair, so a distinction between hairdressing and barbering is necessary.

In principle you can, but it’s good to know that a barber’s haircut is much more angular and masculine than a haircut in a salon.

Change of model haircut means cutting the hair to a completely new style compared to the previous style, or if so much time has passed since the previous haircut that the reshaping has to be started from scratch.

Long hair takes more time to process (not only cutting but also washing and drying, for example) than short or medium length hair. The service is booked for a longer period of time and naturally, the longer the time, the more you will be charged.

The cut will be better when the hair is clean.

Sleeping, wearing a hat, sweating, ponytail, etc. can also twist the hair into “kinks”, so the cut will not be smooth unless the hair has been restored to its natural position by washing.

Washing is not mandatory, but if the hair is dirty, it is washed to avoid damaging the hairdresser’s most important and personal tool, the scissors.

Washing is a non-priced service included in haircuts and its omission does not reduce the price.
