The traditional Finnish hair type is light and thin, so permanent tinting can make even light lashes and eyebrows stand out, without make-up.

It’s an effortless way to enhance the look of your eyes and make your eyebrows and lashes look better for a few weeks.

Permanent colouring can be particularly useful for those who want a natural-looking but effortless look.

The ribs are usually dyed blue-black or black. Blue-black is the most intense and “bright” of the permanent colours. The blue pigments in the dye add depth and permanence to the colour, without the colour refracts to the blue at all.

Permanent eyelash tinting is done right from the base of the lashes to the very tip of the lashes. When the lash is dyed all over, the entire length of the lash is visible, which usually makes the lash look longer than usual.

The eyeliner, a temporary eyeliner left behind by the permanent colour, is often momentarily left on the eyelash line. This lasts for about 24 hours, and gives the eyes a made-up look.

As a rule, light brown, dark brown and grey are used for permanent eyebrow tinting – together or separately. Eyebrows can also be dyed black on request.

  • The light brown colour is particularly suitable for very fair people or those whose eyebrows are exceptionally receptive to the colour.
  • The light brown shade can be darkened and made colder by adding grey or by mixing dark and light brown.
  • Dyeing with dark brown already gives a very intense brow colour.
  • Deepening the colour with grey or even a touch of black already produces a very dark colour.

In addition to all the colours and colour combinations on offer, we also play with the effect time. The longer the exposure time, the deeper the hue.

A professional will be able to choose both the colour and the application time to achieve the brows you want. Just tell your cosmetologist what shade you are looking for for your brows.

Eyebrow colouring always includes eyebrow shaping.

Eyebrows can be shaped with tweezers, which can be used to remove individual hairs for precise, sculpted brows. However, tweezers are not the best choice for all shaping, such as shaping very abundant or clumped eyebrows.

The corners can also be shaped by sugaring instead of using tweezers.

Sugaring is suitable for removing small, thin shark fouling from large areas. It can also be used to remove very light and delicate hairs that are otherwise difficult to see and would not be possible to remove with tweezers.

Eyebrows can be shortened with special small scissors

If the eyebrows are otherwise shaped by plucking and/or sugaring, but some of the eyebrows are clearly too long for a nice line, the overlong hairs can be shortened with scissors.

This avoids removing too much hair, preserving the natural abundance of brows while still keeping them nicely aligned and shaped.

The age limit for permanent dyeing is 16 years.

Frequently asked questions

As a rule of thumb, you should make the colour slightly darker than you want. This way, the actual, desired result will be visible 1-2 days after dyeing, and the colour will remain the desired colour for a little longer.

When dyeing eyebrows with permanent dyes, it is important to remember that the final result of the dyeing is always considerably darker immediately after the dyeing. For this reason, eyebrows that look “scary dark” usually only stay that way for a short time.

The dye stuck to the skin sometimes makes the result look wild, but as a secretory organ, the skin pushes out the dye trapped in the pores, usually within the next 12-24 hours after staining. After this time, the colour has settled to the darkness that the final result of the dyeing actually is.

The final result of permanent eyebrow and eyelash dyeing depends on the colours used, the cleanliness of the hair to be dyed and the duration of the dyeing process.

If you want the darkest possible dye result, you should know that the oxidation reaction between the dye and hydrogen peroxide in the dye stops after 10 minutes. For this reason, the maximum reaction time for permanent dyes is 10 minutes.

The end result cannot be made darker even if the dye is left on the hairs for longer. A longer exposure time will only make the paste dry in place, but there are no darkening properties to be gained by exceeding the exposure time.

If possible, you should always come to a permanent tinting appointment without make-up, so that no extra time is spent removing make-up.

Cleaning make-up with an oil-rich make-up remover also makes hairs impermeable to the film. In this case, the adhesion of permanent colours to the hair is poor, even non-existent.

Permanent colouring should be renewed monthly to maintain a well-groomed look.

Eyelashes fade in 3-4 weeks and eyebrows in 1-3 weeks in most cases.

Permanent eyelash tinting gives the impression of slightly longer lashes, as the naturally lighter ends of the lashes are also coloured.

However, eyelashes are usually naturally quite straight, so dyeing alone will not bring out the full length and potential of your lashes.

Lashes can be made even more spectacular with a lash lift, which further enhances the length of the lashes.

To add volume to your eyebrows, you can use a brow lift. Brow lamination is particularly suitable if you want the most voluminous result or precisely positioned eyebrows.

Both treatments are for natural eyelash or eyebrow hair, and do not involve gluing extensions or loose pieces to your own hair.
