Microblading
Kauniainen

Microblading is a brow shaping technique that takes a colour pigment under the skin to create natural, personalised and beautifully shaped brows.

Beautiful, personalised and natural eyebrows for six months

Microblading gives you beautifully shaped brows that look great even on a makeup-free face. The colour stays on the skin from six months to almost a year, after which the treatment can be renewed.

The age limit for microblading is 18 years.

Microblading is an eyebrow shaping technique where a colour pigment is applied to the surface layer of the skin, the epidermis.

The treatment is done with an instrument with a row of small needles right next to each other. Together they form a microblading blade. The instrument is used to ‘cut’ very lightly and superficially into the skin in lines that mimic hairs, which the dye then adheres to and forms beautiful eyebrows.

The technique makes it possible to mimic natural hair as closely as possible, as less colour goes into the tissue than with a pigmentation needle.

The procedure is somewhat similar to a tattoo, but the result is less long-lasting.

The colour will fade from the skin in about 6-12 months, after which a touch-up treatment is recommended if you want to maintain the result. Overall, it can take 2-3 years for the colour to fade.

  • You can correct asymmetry of the eyebrows, strengthen your own eyebrows or create missing eyebrows.
  • Microblading eyebrows stay looking good and in shape at work, outdoors or during hobbies – no more runny make-up.
  • Make-up is easier to apply – especially if your hands are shaky or your eyesight is poor.

The procedure involves the following: the design, the procedure itself and aftercare.

  • During the shaping process, we will measure symmetrical eyebrows for you according to the shape of your face. We draw the outline of your new eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil.
  • Once you’ve seen and approved the design, we’ll fill in the area inside the outline with the pigment that suits you best and that you like best. We never use pigment on the contours, and they are always erased completely to give the most natural-looking corners.
  • Finally, you will receive aftercare instructions from a cosmetologist.

  • Be prepared for almost everyone’s eyebrows to redden after the procedure – take this into account when planning your post-procedure classes.
  • Please do not apply make-up on the day of the procedure. Otherwise you can apply light make-up.
  • Do not pluck or remove eyebrows in any way for a week before microblading.
  • Avoid using skin care products containing Retin A, i.e. tretinoin or vitamin A, in the eyebrow area for a month.
  • AHA-containing skin care products should be avoided for a week before the procedure, and anti-age products in the eyebrow area for two weeks before the procedure.
  • We do not recommend aspirin or ibuprofen for use up to 48 hours before the procedure. However, do not stop taking medicines that are important for your health without consulting your doctor!
  • If you are taking a blood thinner, please consult your doctor and microblading specialist first.
  • Be open with the author about any other chronic illnesses and allergies you may have. If you have noticed that a cosmetic product has a negative effect on your skin, tell the author.
  • Do not donate blood on the day of the procedure or the day after. Donating blood can put a strain on your body and you may feel weak.

Careful aftercare is important to achieve a lasting result.

  • Do not touch the eyebrows the first day after the procedure.
  • Avoid watering the eyebrows for three days.
  • Do not tear or remove dead skin/skin.
  • Avoid swimming and sweating for a week.
  • Avoid tanning beds, sun and intensive skin creams for two weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Both microblading and permanent pigmentation are a type of tattooing technique. Both involve the introduction of a colour pigment under the skin, where it is intended to remain for anywhere from six months to several years.

The dyes used in the procedures do not differ much. Both pigmentation and microblading dyes are gradually removed from the skin as a result of metabolism.

What distinguishes these operations is the way they are carried out, i.e. the technique.

Microblading is done manually using a cutting technique, with an instrument specifically designed for this purpose. The final result depends largely on the hand of the artist, as the depth of the layers of the skin to which the microblading is applied is entirely determined by the hand of the artist.

Pigmentation, on the other hand, is done mechanically with a needle. The machine always “strikes” the needle at a predetermined depth, so the needle delivers the pigment evenly into the skin as the operator moves the machine’s handpiece. There are several different techniques for pigmentation, and unlike microblading, pigmentation can also be used to highlight the eyes and lips.

In both techniques, the factor is the most important. No device, needle or instrument will take the dye into the skin on its own. Therefore, it is always important to find out in advance the professionalism of your own permanent make-up artist.

Microblading is a very lightweight treatment that usually lasts on the skin for about 6-10 months, up to a maximum of one year.

Microblading is not permanent pigmentation, so its duration is very much shorter compared to pigmentation.

This procedure doesn’t really hurt, but it can feel disgusting at first. For particularly sensitive skin, the procedure may hurt a little more than for normal skin.

We use a surface anaesthetic (not injectable) for the procedure, and it takes away most of the discomfort. The surface anaesthetic dissipates from the body within two hours.

Note! However, the first microblading lines are always done without anaesthesia, so that any muscle relaxation caused by the anaesthesia does not affect the symmetry of the eyebrows.

The first procedure takes about 1.5 hours. This time includes preparation, brow shaping, microblading and aftercare instructions.

The “touch-up” or confirmation session takes 1 hour.

Two to four weeks. During the healing process, the dead skin cell sloughs off and the surface layer of skin begins to heal. Remember not to tear the scab that forms.

As the skin exfoliates, the pigment deposited in the skin is reduced. Eyebrows are therefore much darker immediately after the procedure than they were after it.

Yes, the age limit is 18 years.

Microblading always includes the first time and a touch-up. If after the touch-up you feel there is something to be corrected, please contact us with photos within 3 weeks at the latest by email palaute@fenixkauneus.fi
